Inspection Section Head - Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates

PURPOSE: To direct all inspection activities for certifying all stationary equipment, associated piping, pipelines and all pressure vessels conform to required specifications and standards to ensure plant integrity. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. To direct and supervise all on-steam and shutdown inspection activities for stationary equipment, piping systems, pressure relieving device and structures. 2. To assess deterioration mechanisms, corrosion rates and investigation of failures in order to establish inspection frequencies and/or corrective actions to prevent recurrences. 3. To authorize the line-up of piping and equipment to the plant, provided by the data from engineering sections. 4. To identify equipment threats and hazards to, in order to maintain the integrity of all equipment. 5. To ensure a comprehensive documentation and data system, for effective maintenance and inspection follow-up. 6. To participate in various site level audits and identify areas of concerns and prepare dedicated inspection procedures to follow-up their resolution to improve plant integritY. 7. To ensure the update, implementation and periodic revision of the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) methodology, to enhance plant integrity and reliability. 8. To compile/provide input for preparation of division/department Capital, Operating and 5 Year Plan budgets, and monitor/control expenditure. 9. To enforce the implementation of Company Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSE-MS) and also promote awareness of its use among all division and department personnel. 10. To advice on repair techniques, materials selection, welding procedures, inspection and testing requirements. 11. To participate in Plant Change Requests (PCRs) and projects from design stage to implementation. 12. To carry out employee Performance Appraisals for direct report subordinates. 13. To ensure development & implementation of Competency Based Training & Development programs, through use of Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and UAE Nationalization directives. 14. To control storage and movement of radiation sources as per HSE guidelines. 15. To prepare Quality Assurance and Control procedures, inspection Test Plans and Design General Specifications as required. MAIN CHALLENGES: • To ensure integrity of plant equipment including piping, in view of the large volume of identified defects. • To develop inspection/audit programs, that are transparent and put into place.

Profile: MINIMUM REQUIREMNTS: 1. A minimum of 10 years in mechanical/inspection organization in the oil & gas industry. 2. Thorough knowledge of inspection procedures, inspection techniques as well as inspection management systems such as RBI and IDMS. 3. Experience in leadership of an inspection organization with e.g. 4 production area's and a specialist section under a senior inspection engineer, in total 21 inspection employees. 4. High level of proficiency in English. 5. A team worker willing to organize together with Maintenance strategic plans to assure equipment integrity for the near future. 6. Fluent in Microsoft Windows applications, good communication and management skills.
