Chief Researcher– Banking and Finance-Safat - Kuwait

To assist the Research Unit Head in identifying the Institutes annual research plan areas and priorities as well as publications; offer research consultancy to research teams and groups.

Responsibilities: Discuss banks research needs with their officials and research executives; define the objectives, areas, significance and practical applications.

Look into and analyze major developments in the banking industry as far as their economic, financial, , marketing, organizational and administrative areas and dimensions are concerned at both local and international levels in order to identify the research opportunities created by such developments.
Discuss research plans, stages and programs with researchers; offer guidance and research and technical advice to research teams.
Carry out the Institutes's research projects and publications in the banking industry relevant to his/her research and academic interests.
Assist Unit Head in planning and carrying out research projects and programs.
Arrange research committees and teams meetings and monitor their activities and project progress.
Share in performing research, teaching and training duties; offer research and technical advice to other units if he/she is required to do so to support their activities.
Submit progress reports on research plans and projects with comments and opinion.
Monitor local and foreign research institutions research and publications related to the interests and areas of the banking industry; recommend ideas and solutions.
Monitor the provision of the Institutes’s website with the necessary information and update the same in such a manner that helps to serve the banking sector and supports the Institutes’s role in this respect.
Monitor and appraise researchers performance and recommend action to develop their research abilities.
Perform any other duty as required within the scope of his/her job.

Profile: University qualifications: Phd. in Banking studies, Finance, Investment, Economy or Financial Analysis.

Previous experience: Minimum 5 years experience in the preparation of research studies and financial and economic reports.

Specialist knowledge: profound knowledge of research methodology, practically in the area of such applied research that helps develop the banking industry and support its database. Analytical skills, proficient in computing and in the use of appropriate software in research studies, knowledge in the financial and banking environment and nature. monitoring and analyzing the latest developments in the banking industry locally and internationally.

Other skills: Strong personality, extraordinary skill and ability to lead working groups and research teams, interpersonal skills, negotiation skill, work under pressure, creativity, initiative, and the ability to create opportunities.
