Key responsibilities include managing all aspects (from commencement to completion) for the simultaneous execution of one or more projects with accountability for timely delivery to very high standards of Safety/ Quality and within budget.


The candidate should have managed a working team size of more than 500 people and a minimum built up area of more than 200,000 sq. feet per year.


Proficiency in latest project management tools is a must. GCC experience mandatory.


CONTRACTS MANAGER – CIVIL
Graduate engineers in Civil with strong knowledge of
FIDIC form of contract administration with at least
10 years of experience, out of which 5 years must be in
gulf, handling pre-tender activities of construction
projects (both high rise and industrial projects) with proven record in estimation, tender planning, preparation
and submission, quantity take offs, BOQ preparation(star
rate build ups) and analysis of preliminaries,
sub-contract/vendor price evaluations for pre-tender
contract review and risk analysis, post tender
contract management.


Knowledge of Middle East tendering/pricing norms is mandatory. Knowledge of software applications will be an advantage.

QUANTITY SURVEYOR – CIVIL & MEP
Graduate Engineers in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical
with experience in the capacity of QS in a large
contracting firm. Must be well versed in quantity take offs, BOQ preparation, tendering, estimation, contractual
issues, preparation of invoices, variations/claims, checking in the field of high rise buildings. Sound knowledge of MS Office applications is required.

QA/QC ENGINEER – CIVIL /MEP
Graduate Engineers in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical with 7-5 years of experience in QA/QC.

Should have handled all aspects of quality assurance throughout the project, should be familiar with construction specification and quality management techniques used in construction industry. Prepare and monitor QA plans, procedures and other documentation.

TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR – CIVIL
Seasoned individuals with 20 - 15 years of GCC
experience in construction, of which 5 years must be
in a supervisory role. The position requires managing
construction teams at project sites to ensure timely
completion of assigned jobs that meet quality
specifications. Good leadership and inter-personal
skills for interacting with workers is a must to ensure the

JOB PURPOSE:

Job Objective:
Supports the SPM Engineering and Interfaces Manager in providing direction and management of the Electrical design requirements for the Lusail project. Interfaces with the Consultant’s Design Team to monitor schedule and budget performance. Reviews, coordinates and monitors the works of all Electrical designers to provide guidance regarding the vision of Lusail and project requirements and specifications. A key function is to manage the responses to design RFIs, review/comment on Change Orders, and provide overall supervision for the design direct reports, while managing schedule and budget control.

•Prepares weekly work load reports, monitors the progress of work accomplished and reports to the higher management and the client.
•Serves as primary interface with the design consultants in performing design reviews or addressing construction-related issues related to the electrical systems.

Provides support for other engineering activities as required.  May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.
May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate-size project.
Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

4-year degree in Engineering (or related field) and 5-8 years of related work experience.  In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required.

Experience
Minimum of fifteen (15) years broad experience in all project phases i.e. FEED, detailed engineering, and construction, would have at least five (10) years specific involvement in projects.
Experience with Rotating equipment packages and other vendor supplied packages, in particular refinery and petrochemical projects.
Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.

The Rotating Equipment Engineer is the technical expert on rotating mechanical equipment and package equipment. Oversees the FEED execution as well as EPC contractor's production of the required rotating equipment deliverables. Ensures the Project's requirements, as detailed in the Technical Specifications, for all rotating/package equipment are met. Assists with all aspects of rotating/package equipment selection, design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up planning. Facilitates interfaces among the other Discipline Engineers of PMT and FEED and EPC contractor's organization with respect to rotating equipment issues. Ensure that the Rotating Equipment design meet the Project, safety, environmental, operational, quality, cost, design, and schedule objectives.

Tasks and Duties:

Provide overall rotating equipment technical leadership and expertise
Coordinate project engineering team members' involvement in rotating equipment activities, including interaction with FEED and EPC contractor's rotating equipment personnel
Prepare and submit monthly progress data, including narratives, charts, graphs, etc. on rotating equipment issues to the Engineering Lead
Provide rotating equipment input for Hazardous Operations (HAZOP) reviews
Provide rotating equipment input for Risk Management activities, as appropriate
Review Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) for safe and operable rotating equipment features
Advise FEED and EPC contractor's rotating equipment activities with respect to:
Equipment data sheet completeness and accuracy
Rotating equipment engineering studies and analyses
Inspection and test plans, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Integration Tests (SITs)
Compliance with design methods and safety factors to be used in design of project
Field verifications and field information gathering trips
Support Engineering Lead in coordinating/communicating various issues which affect the rotating equipment engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work.

The key responsibilities are:
    Provide advice to senior management on all aspects of engineering support, environmental controls and the operational efficiency of the property.

    Ensure the effective financial management of the engineering department by setting maintenance budgets, capital works programs and engineering plans and ensuring that performance against there are regularly monitored and reviewed.  Responsible for the general cost control aspects of maintenance, the preparation of departmental cost budgets and their implementation and submission to management.

    Ensure the effective financial management of the Capital Plan by setting realistic capital budgets, cash flows, capital works programs and equity asset plans and ensuring that performance against these are regularly monitored and reviewed.  Responsible for the general cost control aspects of each project, the preparation and submission of budget estimates to management and their successful implementation.

    Take control of Capital Project planning, in liaison with management, to ensure capital funding is effectively allocated and budgeted in accordance with company directives and philosophy.

    Plan, implement and administer a five-year Capital Plan, which is updated annually against InterContinental Hotels Group Divisional Capital funding allocations. Liaise closely with the Director of Finance and the Resident Manager to meet these criteria.

    Ensure Executive Committee awareness of the Capital Program within the property by conducting regular updates at each meeting. Attend the morning briefing meeting daily and update staff on progress.

    Plan, implement and administer an energy management program by establishing energy reduction objectives, the maintenance of records and regular reporting of performance against these objectives.

    Ensure InterContinental standards and requirements are effectively met for each project undertaken by liaising regularly with InterContinental Hotels Group Technical Services Department.  Ensure quality standards are achieved for each project undertaken and defects are completely resolved prior to issuing final accounts.  

    Ensure adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures for each project.  Ensure that any tests and inspections required on equipment are carried out and records maintained.  Ensure all building codes and relevant ordinance requirements are met and all building department requirements and submissions are submitted and final approval is achieved.

    Ensure a technically competent project team by selecting qualified consultants and selecting contractors based on previous experience, quality and price.  Carry out regular work sampling during the project and proactively feedback to the contractor and consultant team and senior management.

    Ensure the staff awareness of energy management within the property by conducting regular education and training programs on energy conservation and matters related to efficient operation of equipment in a cost-effective fashion.

    Contribute to the hotel's profitability by ensuring the effective management of the buildings environmental controls and energy conservation systems.  Evaluate, control and record energy usage and implement and upgrade energy conservation systems.

    Contribute to guest satisfaction standards by ensuring that technical support services quickly address, and where possible, anticipate, individual needs.  Ensure the safety and comfort of guests and that any requests for service are handled in a courteous and efficient fashion.

    Ensure a technically competent engineering staff by selecting, training and developing a motivated, well-qualified maintenance team.  Carry out regular work sampling studies within the department and evaluate the performance and productivity of personnel.

    Maintain the condition of the physical assets of the hotel by carrying out any upgrading and project work in liaison with architects, interior designers and management.

    Ensure the effective operation of all the mechanical and electrical systems and equipment by implementing and managing a preventative maintenance program.  Closely monitor the condition of the physical property and equipment by conducting continual inspections of the building.  Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are in operation and regularly upgraded.

    Contribute to a high standard of quality control within the hotel by actively participating in the hotel's Quality Assurance Program.

    Ensure the cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of all services performed by outside contracts by close supervision.  Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with contracts, leases, services agreements and warranties.

    Ensure the quality of all work completed by both employees and external contracted staff adheres to the standards of good engineering practice.

    Contribute to the effectiveness of management decision making by representing the engineering department at all executive and staff meetings and by ensuring regular liaison with heads of other departments.

    Liaise with Owning Company representatives on matters relating to property modifications, capital investment.
