Job Description Review project specifications, drawings and bills of quantities and identify engineering requirements for the project. Provide technical input to planning department/project manager/contract manager in finalising/preparing contract programme.
Evaluate technical submissions from suppliers for all major materials required for the project and prepare material submittals for suppliers selected by ANCG for submission to Engineer/Client. Review the method statements prepared by site agent/project manager for adequacy and submit them to Engineer/Client for approval. Prepare and submit work notifications to Engineer/Client for all new activities on the project. Review contract drawings and prepare a list of shop drawings required to be prepared. Provide details to draftsmen for shop drawings and review same for accuracy/compliance with contract requirements prior to submitting for approval.
Review all subcontractor technical submittals prior to submission for Engineer/Client approval, except M&E items which shall be forwarded to M&E Coordination Manager.
Prepare, issue and maintain registers and tracking schedules for all technical submittals such as contract drawings; material submittals; materials procurement; method statements; work notifications; site instructions; confirmations of verbal instructions; variation orders etc. Overall responsibility for issuing controlled copies of documents such as contract drawings; shop drawings; material submittals; method statements; work notifications; site instructions etc. to all concerned project staff as required through document controller/clerk. Prepare monthly project reports for submission to Senior Management/Client. Monitor procurement schedule and coordinate with purchase department/ stores on delivery of long-lead, critical and bulk items.
Monitor progress and provide technical support to Contract/Project manager and project team.
Conduct inspection of permanent materials received where QA/QC Engineer is not present.
Be able to recognize potential problems and action them before they become critical. Ensure timely submission of all information to Costing Department to meet reporting timetable, particularly with regard to labour, plant and machinery. Be fully responsible for design coordination with the Client; Local Authorities; Consultants; Subcontractors and to ensure the smooth running and timely implementation of all aspects pertaining to the Design and any changes thereto.
Desired Candidate's Profile: Profile Minimum of 10 years experience primarily with Civil Engineering contractors and involving on-site working and time spent in design office.
