Responsible for supporting MEW SUSE Linux Enterprise Server clusters ensuring their performance, availability and security. Proactively monitor, test, collect and analyze system performance statistical data to improve quality of the Linux environment. Control and monitor user access to Linux servers and maintain Linux security. Allocate systems storage and develop plans for future storage requirements. Propose and implement system enhancement (software and hardware updates). Design, implement, and engineer system security standards, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the ministry's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. Create and maintain infrastructure standards documentation as it relates to infrastructure systems design, configuration, support, and processes. Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and troubleshooting issues within a multi-vendor infrastructure
Desired Candidate's Profile: Profile Bachelor Degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Engineering or Computer Science 3 plus years experience in Linux Operating System. Exposure in installing, patching and maintaining of any Enterprise Applications suite (CRM, ERP, BI etc.) in a multi-tier Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environments. Good knowledge of Linux operating system concepts, including file system, kernel memory, networking, and security concepts. Working knowledge of Apache, MySQL, PHP, HTML, CSS, Bash scripting. Working knowledge of configuring and tuning of Linux based web and application servers. Ability to perform security management by auditing and maintaining roles, privileges, and user profiles. Conduct /create or update data validation checks using industry standard methodology. Experience in Implementing change control and insuring that changes to the production systems are properly coordinated. Knowledge of third-party change and version control tools such as subversion is a plus. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with senior management. Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service. Negotiation skills and understanding of business environment. Knowledge of load balancing technologies is a plus. Knowledge of job associated databases/software/documentation
