Hydrographic Surveyor - National Port Services Co - Dammam - Khobar - Saudi Arabia

• Consult with and advise the Director of the SEAPA Marine Affairs Department in matters concerning international standards of charting international high seas and waterways and especially the waters around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Monitor and supervise:
- Saudi Arabian hydrographic survey performance
- Modifications to hydrographic survey charts for the waters around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Efficiency of support services and organizations.
- Log keeping and up-dating of documentation.
• Evaluate proposed modification to navigational charts.
• Prepare routine reports with observations concerning reporting variations from published charts and variations noted during area inspections.
• Prepare special reports as required.
• Plan and conduct investigations into:
- Possible technical or procedural modifications which could improve hydrography / cartography within the ports environs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
- Hydrographic anomalies in the field through systematic collection dn analysis of data from external sources.
- Other works within the competence of the hydrographer, as directed by SEAPA Marine Affairs Department.
• Visit Saudi Arabian port sites and chart center on a regular basis to observe variations between reported hydrographic survey results and documented charting.
• Monitor events pertinent to hydrography in the waters around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Monitor and maintain logs of variations and reported anomalies in the charts of the waters of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Prepare Notices to Mariners and Navigation warnings for distribution to shipping in the waters around the Kingdom of Arabia and the international shipping community.
• Maintain liaison with the international hydrogaphic survey and cartographic community through regular contact with I.H.O. and other international recognized charting agencies.
