Telecom Technician-Bin Houfan Commercial Agencies Est-Abu Dhabi - United Arab Emirates

Reports to the Telemetry/Telecoms/Instrument Supervisor. The equipment under his responsibility includes PABX Telephone Exchange, CCTV Systems, Public Address, Intercom, Alarms, Trunk and Conventional Networks, Local Area Networks and Low Current Systems. • To support the testing and fault finding of these systems, various types of test equipment such as Cable Fault Analyzers, Radio test equipment, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Protocol Analyzers and Camera Test Rigs are used, plus laptop computers with diagnostic software. • To carry out preventive, corrective and troubleshooting maintenance on equipment, based on the daily work orders assigned by the Supervisor. • To respond/coordinate with the other ADNOC affiliate remote site technical personnel in trouble – shooting ISDN and ETISALAT network faults, and normalizing network digital links. • To comply with all company Health, Safety and Environment as well as Work Permit, policies and procedures. • To test trunk radios, base stations, portable and mobile radios according to specifications. • To report and participate in locating and rectifying any network equipment and link abnormalities. • To perform installation, maintenance and repair/rehabilitation of existing cable network and accessories. • To update drawings, records and other documents related to the telecommunication network. • To participate in the diagnosis of major faults with the Supervisor and carry out routine investigation of anomalies. • To troubleshoot, identify and isolate any faults reported either in communication links or telecom equipment. • To complete necessary records in the MAXIMO system for work order spares, materials and manpower schedules. • To provide On Job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization. • To ensure smooth integration between various Telecommunication section equipment, considering the diverse types and ages of equipment on all sites.

Profile • Knowledge of Safety aspects especially in petrochemical environments • Minimum experience 7 years in the field of Telecommunication at oil installations • That includes working experience on PABXs and its associated such as Trunks and their links • Out side plant (OSP), Low voltage devices, ISDN and DSL lines • Installations maintenance of Telephones, Configuration of Telephones, Fax Machines, Batteries and charges and its wiring • Record up dating, Drawings reading SMATV system, Head End Distribution and maintenance of the network. • Higher Secondary School Certificate, Diploma in Electronics or Telecommunication. • English language spoken and written.
