Essential experience and job requirements Solid experience as a production operator within an operating asset.
Experience of a gas, oil or petrochemical processing plant.
Experience with BP control of work processes and golden rules.
Reporting to a Production Supervisor, the Production Technician forms an important part of early operations engagement on the Khazzan Project.
The early focus of the role is to embed practical operating experience into the detailed design and development of the day to day operating practices of the Khazzan development, to ensure that the facility can be successfully operated to the required standards.
As the project progresses the role will develop into a coaching position; developing national staff to the level required by BP to support the Khazzan asset.
The role presents a rare opportunity to be part of establishing a new operating centre, which will aspire to the highest operating standards, comparable with the best of BP facilities worldwide.
The early stages of the role will see it based primarily at the Engineering contractors offices. During the later stages of Execute the role will be based at the Khazzan onshore gas processing facility and be involved with the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up activities.
Key accountabilities Input to ensure that the Khazzan project is designed and built to the highest standards of safety and plant reliability.
Take a major role in the development of the plant Site Operating Procedures, and the development of Task based Procedures.
Input into the design assurance processes (P&ID reviews, HAZOP, LOPA).
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests for critical equipment.
Input into the development of training plans for national staff.
Monitor the process plant to observe equipment operating conditions, making manual operating adjustments as required maintaining a steady state operation.
Coaching and mentoring of national technicians and trainees, to aid in the development of a fully nationalised and competent operations workforce.
